COST ENGINEER

Must be willing to travel UK and Europe

 

Skills & Experience

Quotations:

Receive and review enquiries and formulate and manage the preparation of a quotation either directs from current customers/new potential customers or via the group Sales manager.

Obtaining tooling quotations – external and internal

Reviewing processes and equipment required

All aspects of the quotation to include material costs/bought out parts/packaging and logistics/cost down requirements and customer payment terms and expectations.

Prepare the necessary customer documentation to include quotation analysis sheets/documents/ feasibility/timing plans and any relevant required information

Presenting and visiting customers to review quotations

 

Project Management:

As and when required to be involved in any successful projects

Working with the engineering departments

Communications/conference calls/visits with the relevant customer

 

Customer Visits:

To be involved with all customer visits to include all preparation of presentations and factory tours

 

To be successful in the role of Costing Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:

 

External Customer Visits:

As required be available to visit customer on own or part of a team either in UK or abroad

 

Cost Negotiations:

As and when required, prepare cost consideration documents for customer financial reviews for review.

Be able to present this to the customer either on own or as part of a review team

HNC qualified in an Engineering discipline or apprentice trained

Numerate with a critical eye, confident with pricing and quoting

Confident and assertive communication skills, able to negotiate and agree costs whilst also considering business needs

Excel experience

Power Point experience

Good numeracy/maths skills

Good communication skills

Be able work alone or in a group activity – team player

CAD experience preferable but not mandatory
